The University will hold Entrance Examination for admission to various full-time programmes of study at the following 5 cities : Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, Surat, and Mumbai. (The University reserves the right to change/cancel any centre of examination without assigning any reason.) |

Eligibility
(a) For 5 years Integrated M.A. in Politics & Governance/M.A. in Society and Development, the candidate should have minimum 55% marks at 12th Standard.
(b) For M.Phil/Ph.D : Master degree in respective field with at least 55% marks. The candidate with post graduate degree (with 55% marks) in other subjects could also apply.
(c) Note 1 : The candidate who has cleared the NET examination need not appear for the entrance test. They would be called directly for the interview. However, those who wish to appear for the entrance test they can also do so.
(d) Note 2 : All SC, ST and Physically Challenged (Handicapped) candidates who have passed Standard 12th in the qualifying examination are eligible to appear in the entrance examination irrespective of their percentage of marks

Instructions/guidelines
In case of emergency/crisis, on giving undertaking the candidate would be permitted to appear for the examination at any examination center other than his/her allotted one. If Admit Card is lost or could not receive in time, the candidate would be permitted to appear for the examination by proving his/her identity, giving undertaking and two photographs.
Reservations
15%, 7.5% and 27% seats are reserved for SC, ST and OBC candidates respectively as per reservation policy of Government of India

General Candidate : Rs. 500/-
OBC Candidate : Rs.250/-
SC/ST Candidate : Rs.100/-
Mode of Payment of Fee
A Demand Draft favouring “Central University of Gujarat, Gandhinagar” payable at ‘Central Bank of India’ or any other nationalized/scheduled bank at Gandhinagar Branch should accompany the application form.
Fee Structure
Low fee structure for inaugural batch for the year 2009-2010.
Financial Assistance
Limited financial assistance in the form of Merit-cum-means scholarships /Fellowships/Freeships/Fee-Concessions would be available for the deserving and needy candidates.

Note : merit lists of candidates who appeared for various programmes will be available on the website of the university.
Selection Criteria for Admissions
1 In case of M.A. (5 years integrated programme), the candidates will be selected for admission as per the merit-lists prepared on the basis of Entrance Examinations only.
2 In case of M.Phil/Ph.D. programmes, the candidates will be selected for admission as per the merit list prepared on the basis of Entrance Examination and Interview.
General Information
The medium of Entrance Test as well as teaching is English only.
Guidelines for providing writer to blind candidates
Writers will be provided to the blind candidate taking entrance examinations as per guidelines indicated below:
1) A student of not higher than 11th class for a blind candidate taking entrance examination to the M.A. five year integrated programme.
2) A student of not higher than M.A. (first year) and equivalent for a blind candidate taking entrance examination to the M.Phil/ Ph.D programme.
3) Blind candidates who have been provided with a writer may be given additional time of 1 hour.
Travel Concessions for attending interview for M.Phil/Ph.D programme
All outstation candidates called for M.Phil/Ph.D interview (viva-voce) on the basis of written entrance examination will be paid second class rail fare (both ways by shortest route from the place from where they are called for interview ( i.e. mailing address given in the application form) on production of valid train/bus tickets. Candidates wishing to claim reimbursement of fare are advised to retain with them train/bus tickets.
Health Facilities
The university would make efforts to provide basic medical facilities to the students.
Cultural Activities
The university would encourage the students in engaging various cultural activities on the campus like debating, drama, film, fine arts, literary, music, nature and wild life, photography etc.

1) Admission fee, enrollment fee and security deposit are to be paid at the time of enrollment in the university.
2) Tuition fee will be realized in two installments.
